Workers' Compensation Insurance
(Covers personal injury and loss or
damage of personal property during authorised activities) |
Through provisions of the New South
Wales Workers Compensation Legislation, volunteers from the NSW Rural Fire
Service, the NSW State Emergency Service and the NSW Rescue Service receive identical coverage for personal injury and loss
or damage of personal property during authorised activities.
Note: - All injuries to be recorded
in the Record of Injuries Book held by the NSW Rescue Service affiliate and the appropriate
copy forwarded to the NSW Rescue Service Secretary. In the first instance, all claims
are to be forwarded to the NSW Rescue Service Secretary.

| Public
Liability Insurance |
Insurance policy taken out by the
NSW Rescue Service to protect the interests of individuals
and affiliates. This coverage is additional to the "good faith" provisions
of NSW State Emergency and Rescue Management Act.
All affiliates are to keep accurate
logs of all activities.
Any incidents which could possibly
lead to a potential Public Liability claim must be comprehensively documented
with copies sent immediately to the NSW Rescue Service Secretary. No admission of liability
must be made by any affiliate or member.

| Directors'
and Officers' Liability Insurance |
Insurance policy taken out by the
NSW Rescue Service to protect the interests of individuals
acting as officials of the Association. This is quite distinct from Public
Liability and relates to potential liability claims arising from actions
by officials in administering the Association.
All officials are to act in good faith
and keep accurate records of all meetings and decisions. Any incidents
which could possibly lead to a potential liability claim must be comprehensively
documented with copies sent immediately to the NSW Rescue Service Secretary. No admission
of liability must be made by any member.

and Contents Insurance |
Insurance policy taken out by the
NSW Rescue Service. This policy provides insurance coverage
for loss or damage ($1000 excess) to buildings and contents owned by affiliates.
Affiliates wishing to participate in the scheme are to provide details
to the NSW Rescue Service Secretary.
In the event of a claim, affiliates
are to contact the NSW Rescue Service Secretary.

Vehicle Insurance |
Insurance policy taken out by the
NSW Rescue Service. This policy provides insurance coverage
for loss or damage ($1000 excess) to motor vehicles, caravans and trailers
owned by affiliates. Affiliates wishing to participate in the scheme are
to provide details to the NSW Rescue Service Secretary.
In the event of a claim, affiliates
are to contact the NSW Rescue Service Secretary.
